Tremenheere Sculpture Garden is the extraordinary work of local GP, Neil Armstrong. In 1997 he took on a plot of land on the hill behind Penzance which had been landscaped back in the C19th and has well established trees. He has cleared and replanted with flora from around the world, interspersing with sculpture and installations from leading artists to create a wonderful new addition to the gardens of West Cornwall. www.tremenheere.co.uk

Designated as one of the Great Gardens of Cornwall, Trewidden's 15 acre Garden
was originally planted by T. B Bolitho in the late 19th century.  The 15-acre gardens are at Buryas Bridge, only two miles from Penzance and offer an inspiring range of colour and form throughout the year. The various members of the Bolitho family, along with their Head Gardeners, have made Trewidden Garden very different and truly special by creating a mysterious and wonderful garden with a maze of paths meandering through it. The magnificent Tree Fern Dell, set in the bowl of an early open cast tin mine is possibly the largest collection of Australian Tree Ferns in the Northern Hemisphere, most over 100 years old.  Other features include a stunning collection of over 300 Magnolias and Camellias, Acers and a Redwood, The Pond, the Burrows, mysterious wooded pits and huge Tin Kettles, remnants of the ancient tin mine, see more at www.trewiddengarden.co.uk.
